STRONGER THAN THE STORM
A TRIBUTE TO NEW JERSEY
BY: Damien LeGallienne
SPOKEN: The beaches washed away
But they’ll be coming back someday
We’re working hard to make that dream come true
SPOKEN: When the roller coaster fell
We could soon hear Jersey yell
“We will rebuild it and ride again someday.”
CHORUS: Because we’re stronger than the storm
Stronger than the storm
We’re New Jersey and we’re stronger than the storm
Yeah, we’re stronger than the storm
And we’ll soon regain our form
Ortley Beach and Mantoloking are stronger than the storm
Hurricanes they come and go
But New Jersey has a glow
From Elizabeth and Linden
To the Cowtown rodeo
Have a pepperoni pizza
Jersey shops will take your Visa
From the gays in Ocean Grove
Where LGBT people drove
When they feared their homes were washed away
But for now they’re here to stay
Even though the Methodists who own the place
Would like to see them in the bay.
CHORUS: Because we’re stronger than the storm
Stronger than the storm
We’re New Jersey and we’re stronger than the storm
Yeah, we’re stronger than the sea
Even when it snaps a tree
Soon the calzone will be hot
And the beaches won’t be free.
Yeah we’re stronger than the storm
That freaking Jersey storm
Soon we’ll be back home in Seaside
Where the Guidos and Guidettes reside
When the summer comes gulls squawk
And we feed them fries and talk
How we’re stronger than the storm
As we stroll…on….the…..boardwalk.
Cause we’re stronger than the storm.
This absolutely sucks, but not as much as the original song.
Are you a 12 year old boy? That’s who usually re-writes song lyrics, middle school boys. Please don’t do this anymore, its so corny I’m gonna have to have a drink to get the bad taste out of my mouth.
Hey, look at the bright side. At least the writer is not somebody who drinks because they have the misery of living in Old Bridge like you, right? And it could be even worse than that – what if you lived in Browntown. OMG!
