Insiders say that Amanda Bynes is believed by doctors to be suffering from schizophrenia and that she has imparted to friends that aliens control her and tell her what to do. Most doctors think that Bynes is mentally ill but another doctor in England believes she may be confused about messages she is getting from an alien being who Bynes calls Cran-Cran.
Bynes was recently institutionalized after setting a fire in the driveway of a home in Sherman Oaks, California USA.
Psychiatric experts used a California law to force her into a mandatory 72-hour period of observation. She was deemed to be both a danger to herself and a danger to other people. The 72-hour rule does not mean that Bynes will be released in 72 hours, because in many cases, the patient is evaluated and the decision is made that the period of stay should be longer so as to facilitate treatment. In some cases the person who is committed is never fully released because of a psychosis.
“Amanda thinks that she is controlled by an alien named Cran-Cran who tells her what to do.” said a source. “She first thought that if she wore wigs she could prevent Cran-Cran from entering into her head. Now she says that Cra-Cran is telling her to wear the wigs to prevent ordinary humans from putting bad thoughts in her head and trying to turn her against Cran-Cran. A doctor told me that‘s a bad sign and it means that she‘s getting worse.”
Amanda Bynes’ symptoms are typical of the onset of schizophrenia. The vast majority of women who develop schizophrenia are between the ages of 25 and 30. Bynes, at 27, is right in the middle. This suggest that her recent behavior does fall within the criteria where doctors will look into a schizophrenia diagnosis especially if the information is true that she believes that she has contact with an invisible entity.
Schizophrenia is a complicated brain disorder that can be treated. Seeing or speaking to unseen people or entities and a general detachment from reality are the cardinal signs of the disease. Amanda Bynes’ behavior is typically what one would see in developing or full-blown schizophrenia, but another expert disagrees.
“How do we know that Cran-Cran is not a real being and how do we know that Amanda Bynes has not been chosen by an alien force to reveal himself,” said British psychiatrist Jonathan Morris.
“As physicians we are quick to put a label on people as being sick with one mental illness or another, but the truth is that in centuries of study, we still do not understand schizophrenia. It has been described for eons and many of today’s Catholic Saints and Biblical figures who claimed to have had visions of gods and demons would today be labeled as schizophrenics when in fact the visions might be real.
“There is every possibility that the schizophrenic mind is a highly developed mind that is almost, but not quite capable, of communicating with, or being influenced by, entities from parallel universes. The connections between the two universes are muddled because human DNA has not perfected the ability to connect and so the person who communicates with unseen beings is confused and seems disoriented.
“The drugs we use to control this communication between the two realms work only to scramble the communication lines. As a medical doctor and a scientist, it’s very easy for me to imagine that Cran-Cran is a very real alien or entity. If we labeled the prophets of old as schizophrenics, we would not have Moses or Abraham or Christ — the list goes on and on. I don’t think it’s fair to label Amanda Bynes as a mentally deranged person. Why is it not possible that she might really be in tune with a being named Cran-Cran.”
Psychiatric health professionals readily dismiss the idea that there is any being named Cran Cran, but some theologians note that nobody believed Bernadette Soubirous when she saw a glowing lady in white — until Bernadette went on to be be Saint Bernadette of Lourdes. Lourdes is now a shrine in France where millions of people go each year to be healed of their afflictions by the Virgin Mary.
