“Get up, you cunts,” read the message on each seats video console. The message was sent by the airplane’s crew and likely intended for two sleeping stewards — “you know how those guys can be bitchy to each other,” reports The Sun.
The crew members thought they were sending a private message to the TV screens of special seats where the stewards were having a nap. Instead, the message was sent to all passengers in premium economy on the flight from Orlando to Glasgow.
According to the paper, passengers complained the whole way home and some are seeking refunds and compensation. This is because they want money and they were not really offended by the gaffe. People will say anything to try to get their airfare refunded.
“Unsophisticated and trashy people love to get their money back when they even see a fly on an airplane,” said special airline consultant Benjamin Switchy.
“It’s part of a culture of air travel entitlement. If these queens called the sleeping queen a cunt on a video screen, how does that entitle anyone to an airfare refund? I mean, come on, Mary. Puleeeze!”
A spokesperson for Virgin Atlantic said the incident was being investigated and that appropriate action will be taken as necessary.
It seems that obscenities are not taken lightly in the friendly skies. Just last week a Delta passenger was booted from his flight for using the F word — Food.
